Counselling can be a very effective response to emotional distress, anxiety, depression and other problems.  I am a qualified counsellor (BACP Accredited) with over twenty years experience in helping professions using counselling skills.  Most recently I have worked as a counsellor in the NHS, university counselling services (Trinity College Dublin and the University of York), and private practice.  There is a large research base suggesting that counselling is effective, and so it is reasonable for those in distress to hope that they can be helped to find healing and positive change.

I hope that you will find sufficient information here to help you know more about counselling and what I offer as a counsellor (and counselling supervisor).  If you require any further information please feel free to contant me.

I have considerable experience working with people suffering from the many issues including:

  • bereavement and loss
  • anxiety and depression
  • issues with self-esteem and confidence
  • relationship problems
  • gender and sexual issues
  • difficult life-changes
  • stress and work/life balance
  • overcoming traumatic experiences
  • the after effects of childhood abuse and neglect

There are many models of counselling, each with marked differences in style and approach.  My approach is integrative and I offer the opportunity to talk in a safe, non-judging, supportive environment.

I work in central London (near the Old Bailey and St Bart's Hospital) and endeavour to offer a service that is convenient and relevant to people resident and employed locally, including lawyers, health employees, and those employed in financial services.

If you would like to know more about how I work, please read the 'How I Work' section.
